23 January 2010 - Brinnon FD awarded 2009 Volunteer Firefighter Assistance Grant

     On 23 January 2010 the Brinnon Fire Department was awarded the Volunteer Firefighter Assistance Grant (VFA). This grant is administered by the Bureau of the Interior for those agencies that provide fire coverage to the National Parks Service. This grant was a 50% matching grant for the amount of $30,000.00. The actual grant funds are capped at $13,800.00 dollars.

    This funding will be used to build our second tender. This tender is being built by the Brinnon FD on a short wheel base chassis and will allow us to provide water supply to a large portion of our undeveloped area in the fire district. When completed the tender will carry 2500 gallons of water.
