
Do you want a meaningful and rewarding summer job? Apply for a position with the Brinnon Fire Department during the 2026 wildfire season! It’s physical, sometimes strenuous work with deep purpose. Seasonal positions will run from May 15th through September 15th; at the department’s discretion, positions may be extended for an additional 30 days depending on wildfire conditions.
Your primary role will involve deploying with our Wildland Team to locations within the continental United States, as a wildland firefighter. Deployments typically last two weeks or more. Between wildland deployments, you’ll operate out of the Brinnon Fire Department crew as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (FF/EMT). Working hours in Brinnon are Thursday through Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position’s pay will be based on your experience and skills.

Previous experience as a wildland firefighter and an EMT is a significant plus.
We will accept applications from January 15th through February 28th. The application form can be downloaded below and submitted by mail or in person at the station. Physical and written tests will be administered in March, with final selections by April 1st.
